When Russell Reeves was 16 years old, he decided to leave behind the life of a farmer in Doyline and move to Shreveport to start a service station that sold gas, fishing baits, lawnmowers and just about anything to make ends meet.  Now, 75 years later, that service station has grown into what the Shreveport-Bossier area knows as Reeves Marine.

Russell’s passion for boating was passed to his two sons, Rodney and Rusty, who worked side by side with their Dad for 40 years.  “Dad was our mentor”, Rodney said.  “We watched, listened and learned everything that makes Reeves Marine what it is today from our Dad.   Now Rodney’s son, Brad Reeves, has joined side by side with his Dad to be the third generation to continue his dream.

Reeves Marine’s new home is located at 2000 Reeves Marine Drive, directly across from the Century Tel Center in Bossier City.

For over 40 years, Reeves Marine has been the oldest Skeeter dealer in the country.  The selection of boats includes SeaRay, Ranger, Bennington Pontoons, Yamaha, Tige' and Weldbilt. 

The philosophy “We are in the people business, not the boat business”, continues to make Reeves Marine a successful company 75 years later.
